New year, new goals. A new opportunity to push for greater things and solidify what was already gained.
We like to share with our followers and fans what we at Omnius, are planning for the new year. We may not be one of the biggest orgs in the ZA space and we do what we can within our range, but that shouldn’t stop or discourage us or anyone else from improving, experimenting and delivering new exciting things under their org and in the scene, enabling more networking, healthy relationships and getting more of the community involved.
Careful planning and execution are key – we don’t always like jumping into something when we don’t have all the details planned out and our ducks aren’t in a row so with the new year hopefully the “quiet time” we’ve had will showcase what we’ve been working on.
With that said – let’s dive into the 2023 Roadmap shall we?
The fun cousin – Design. As usual, we’ll be doing a yearly refresh on all our designs across the board to bring something fresh and hopefully eye-catching for our fans. This will include all our social media banners, posts, videos, player avatars etc etc, pretty much everything that involves our CI.
2023 is a new year and that means new Jerseys 👀 We’ll be doing our annual 3 Jersey design competition giving the community a voice in telling us what design they think looks 🔥 and something they themselves would like to wear as a supporter. As per normal 1 lucky winner will be receiving the first jersey of the new design so keep an eye out on our socials next so that you can get an early entry in the competition.
An apparel refresh will also be underway as we like to bring new options to our players and supporters next year.
We will also be developing some new merch items for our supporters and collectors so keep an eye out on our shop as well as upcoming announcements on the new snazzy items!
Some new set of wallpapers for our ever-growing library will also be focused on. Bringing new exciting options you can use to bring some #omnius through onto your desktop or even mobile device!
The stubborn sister – Content. We want to put a bigger emphasis on content creation for 2023. Aiming to bring some enjoyable and shareable content. Focusing less on purely player-driven content and more on creating our own content with our #omnius family included in the process.
One of the new ways we’ll be diving into the content train will be our new Bi-weekly Podcast. The podcast will be focusing on some insights into what’s happening in the org, teams and some general discussions with the ins and outs of the ZA esports scene. We want to try and cover as much as possible in bite-size snippets so that it’s an enjoyable experience and something to look forward to every two weeks.
The hyper little brother – Core. At the core of Omnius, we have our teams and our players. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do.
We like exploring new titles and expanding our little family so as you’ve already seen we asked what title should be explored in 2023. Rocket League won the poll by far so we’ll definitely be looking to pick up a team for that. It’s always been an exciting title and we would love to bring the green banner to the table.
Rocket League won’t just be the only title we’ll be looking at next year, we’ve got a few other titles we’d also like to branch out into and revisit for the new year. We are also scouring streamerland, looking to pick up some new content creators that we can work with for the various projects we want to undertake this year as well as helping them push their streaming and content.
The shy friend – Extras. So what do we mean by extras? Extras are the little things that might be big things as well. As you’ve seen on our roadmap graphic we have 3 items on the list – App, Project Pets and Giveaways.
Let’s start with the more known items such as Giveaways.
Everyone loves some giveaways right? – it’s free stuff! Right, so we want to try our best to do more for our community in terms of giving back for their support or making someone’s day by giving them something awesome. We want to try and evolve the common formula of a simple – Like, Retweet and Share vibe and incorporate some fun elements that are more action-driven and involved. It will take some experimenting but while we find our flow be sure to support us through the process as you might end up with something cool at the end of the day.
With the help of our partners, we are sure we can do something interesting so keep your eyes peeled.
Project Pets – while not being that unknown – it’s been a charity initiative we’ve been running for a while. For 2023 we want to put in some extra effort in getting more attention to this because at the end of the day it purely just helps.
If you are unaware the objective of Project Pets is to raise funds and awareness for various animal welfare’s. So many of these places sink their own money into these wonderful initiatives that they have started and yet, people don’t know that they are there. If you love your furry gaming buddy as much as we do, then please help support this cause.

Lastly, let’s touch on the App. The Omnius Companion App – why have one and what does it do? Well, the main idea we’ve had with the app for a while, was to have a tool in your pocket to keep up to date on the org if you are a big supporter and for our players to have a in pocket tool to check how they are doing. We want it to be more than just a space waster on your phone and with some gamification and exclusive giveaways from the app, we think it might just be more than some throw-away app. We’ll be opening up BETA testing soon so people can jump in and experience it themselves.
Let the users check it out instead of us trying to sell it to you. It might just be something worthwhile.
So as the year is basically done, we want to take some time and thank everyone that’s been with us this year and all the previous ones. We want to thank our Partners for sticking with us and supporting us. We want to thank our players for all their hard work, achievements and commitment and finally all our fans and supporters. It’s always a nice feeling seeing all the support for our players and what we do.
